Kathleen Salas Bass, Esq., Of Counsel, has more than 20 years' experience advising large and small companies with respect to the design, implementation, and operation of tax-qualified employee benefits, including health and welfare plans and retirement plans.
Ms. Bass's expertise encompasses compliance requirements of health and welfare plans, such as fully-insured and self-insured group health plans, cafeteria plans and other fringe benefits. This includes compliance with COBRA, HIPAA, PPACA, and other federal mandates.
Ms. Bass advises employers on their ERISA reporting, disclosure, and fiduciary responsibilities, and is highly experienced in retirement plan compliance and corrections under IRS and DOL compliance programs.
Ms. Bass has been published in industry journals and other publications on retirement and health and welfare plan topics, and is active in the employee benefits community, including the Western Pension & Benefits Council.
